Gilbert Corona Hits Ace At La Mirada!

The La Mirada Disc Golf Club hosted their weekly disc golf tournament on Tuesday, May 15th at 5:00pm. We had another great turnout with 44 players in four (4) divisions. Open (7), Advanced (16), Intermediate (12) and Novice (9).

In the Open division it was Jose Alcala who took first place with a score of 44 (-10). But the interesting news was the battle in Open for 2nd place between Joel Hall, "Super", and Kevin Hickman. It seems that they would battle for 2nd place, but instead to play for all the marbles...that being winner of the playoff takes 2nd and 3rd place out right. All three teed off from Lakeside hole #1 and right off "Super" was eliminated after he went out of bounds. Kevin and Joel continued until Joel took it later for $46.  Nice pot Joel!

In the Advanced division it was regular "Bama" Steve Civitak who took first place with a score of 48 (-6) for $38.

In the Intermediate division it was a three way tie between Brandon Harn, Ryan Catino and Eric Seelbinder. They shot 53 (-1) for $20 each.

In the Novice division it was Don Hinkle who took first place and bragging rights for this week in the Novice division. We had a Raffle for a used Innova Champion Groove.

The exciting NEWS was that our local player Gilbert Corona hit the ACE on hole #9 on the Lakeside course. "Super" and Kevin Hickman were in attendance along with Brad Hickey and others. Great job Gilbert.

The new ACE pool for the next weekly will be around $170.
